Stephen Crane, the author of The Red Badge of Courage, here describes eight major battles of (then) recent history, being 1. Vittoria, 2. The Siege of Plevna, 3. The Storming of the Burkersdorf Heights, 4. A Swede's Campaign in Germany: I. Leipzig, II. Lutzen, 5. The Storming of Badajoz, 6. The Brief Campaign Against New Orleans, 7. The Battle of Solferino, 8. The Battle of Bunker Hill. The book is illustrated with eight plates by John Sloan.

The book is in good condition, and the red cloth binding is very attractive with crisp gilt titling. The inner binding is secure but a little dry in places. The pages do have quite a bit of blotchy foxing—and these range from small dots to large splodges. However, the main body of text is in good clean condition and this remains an attractive copy.

Our postage is charged at cost and is measured by the weight of the book. The recent USPS price hikes have meant our rates to the US have had to increase.
