A fascinating book which describes London life during the Blitz in the Second World War. It consists of letters written by F Tennyson Jesse and H M Harwood to their American friends (Marion & John Balderston, S N Behrman, Sonya Hovey, Grace Hubble, and Alexander Woollcott) and the replies. The letters describe the war and the Blitz, feelings of mortality and fear, along with cultural life, gossip and the daily goings-on.

This copy is in very good condition. There is some age-toning to the pages due to the wartime economy paper. The binding is secure.
