Full title: Lectures on Art, Delivered at the Royal Academy, London, with portrait, a short sketch of the author's life, and eight selected photographs of his works.
A collection of 18 lectures by Henry Weekes (Composition, Beauty, Taste, Style etc), with eight fine black and white photographs of the artist's works. Henry Weekes, RA (1807 – 1877) was an English sculptor, best known for his portraiture. He was among the most successful British sculptors of the mid-Victorian period.
A nice copy. The leather is a little rubbed and scuffed to the edges and the rear board suffers some sun-fading. The text pages are clean bar a little light foxing and the inner binding is secure. There is a prize label to the front pastedown from the Chester Diocesan Training College, dated 1891.
